Why Cape Town Deserved its World's Best City Win in 2025

After holding second place in 2024, Cape Town has successfully won World's Best City by Time Out, for 2025. This climb to first place comes as no surprise, as the city continues to punch above its weight and outshine other major metros in South Africa, as well as cities further afield. Cape Town has a lot going for it, and I'm proud to write about why I believe this was a well-deserved win.

Cape Town Will Host WorldPride 2028! (A First for Africa)

The city of Cape Town, South Africa, has been chosen to host WorldPride 2028! And, it will be the first city on the African continent to do so! This comes as no surprise, as the city has long been known for its friendliness towards the LGBTQIA+ community, and as a "gay tourism" destination. South Africa also has very strong protections for the community, enshrined into its laws. Cape Town will no doubt be a fantastic host city for Africa's first WorldPride. I'm very excited to be a resident of the city (having been born here), and to attend the events in 2028.
